Seeing All While Flying Blind
Time of Day:
This class is here to develop an inner awareness and to encourage one to really feel what's happening in your practice...by practicing blindfolded. This works great if you have a cloth or bandage with which to cover the eyes (wrapping the head is also a nice option when you have a headache), but you could just close the eyes whenever safely possible for you - if you feel unsafe or unstable, feel free to open the eyes as needed. You will be asked many questions throughout this practice to help bring awareness to what you are feeling physically, mentally, or emotionally. Familiar standing postures as well as floor work are included: Triangle, 5-Pointed Star, Warrior 2, Head to Knee. This is designed to be an introspective practice that moves you away from reliance on your outer senses and to give you a more complete experience within the Asanas and movement overall. You will be amazed at the level of insight you can gain in your practice, and yourself, when truly turning the gaze inward. This practice can really be done any time of day, but may work best in the afternoon or evening.
